Kansas City School of the Arts will begin taking applications for Academic Instructors in February, 2010.  Instructional staff being hired for the 2010-11 school year will be:

INSTRUCTIONAL STAFF PORTFOLIOS

All instructional staff members will be portfolio certified.  This means that all instructional staff in the core areas of Math, Social Studies, Science, and English will have experience in some aspect of the visual/performing arts.  This experience can range from singing in their church choir to ushering at a local theater or music venue as a volunteer.  By having the instructional staff experienced in an arts discipline, they can become more involved in an arts themed school, they can integrate the arts in their instruction, and they can have a greater understanding of the demands of a student in the arts.
